Executive Director

Arnetta Yardbourgh

About me

Arnetta Yardbourgh, MLA, CPCC, is the Founder and Executive Director of Positive Change Matters, Inc (PCM). Ms. Yardbourgh created the nonprofit to serve underserved populations of at-risk youth, teen parents, 1st Generation students (1st Gen), and families transitioning out of challenging circumstances. The impetus for PCM was to fulfill the positive changes that Ms. Yardbourgh identified in today’s youth and at-risk families that Ms. Yardbourgh herself experienced growing up. “Being a latchkey kid, the product of teen parents, and a 1st Gen college student” wasn’t always easy, exclaimed Ms. Yardbourgh when asked her why for starting a nonprofit. The ability to offer the appropriate and necessary tools and resources to those in need is a gift that will hopefully motivate and positively impact the lives and communities of those served.

Ms. Yardbourgh has worked in the self-care and wellness industry for over 20 years as a Life Coach, Consultant, and Wellness Advocate. The owner and President of AY & ASSOCIATES, LLC (AYA), Ms. Yardbourgh, has worked to facilitate the positive change that many of her clients and organizations strive to attain. The slogan, “Positive Change Matters,” has been the cornerstone and guiding principle of her coaching and wellness firm, which has also inspired the name and embodiment of the nonprofit Positive Change Matters (PCM). While recognizing that not all change is good, Ms. Yardbourgh wanted to create a safe space for volunteers and the community to come together to support the clients that PCM will assist.

Ms. Yardbourgh is a true student of life. The doctoral candidate and future Clinical Psychologist loves traveling, eating great food, listening to live music, and having good conversations. Never one to meet a stranger, this FemCity Houston Collective leader is excited to connect, collaborate, and fill some voids in the lives of some extraordinary individuals.
